The all time coolest bedroom belonged to Ferris Bueller...
At least I think so! My name is Sarah Keenlyside and I'm an artist and co-owner of CXBO Chocolates and Restaurant La Banane. A few years ago I came up with the idea of recreating Ferris Bueller's bedroom as an art project for the Gladstone Hotel's annual Come Up To My Room group art show. It was a huge success! Over 4000 people visited the room that weekend, which led to it being invited to Chicago as part of a one-off, 30th anniversary celebration of Ferris Bueller's Day off called Ferris Fest. Again, the response was unprecedented - thousands more came to see the room and after appearing a final time at Niagara Falls Comic Con, we estimate that over 10,000 people visited the room.
The room is currently in storage, but its story isn't over yet. Together with Canadian broadcaster Hollywood Suite and multi-media production studio Pyramid Attack, we created a VR version of the room! You can find out more about it HERE.
Hollywood Suite also made a feature documentary about my experience recreating the room in Chicago, which will premiere on June 2 at Toronto's Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema, and on Hollywood Suite's 80s themed channel on June 5! Check out the trailer below!
